Richard's Ramblings
Been quite busy doing non-boat related stuff since the last issue.
Let's see. Since the last issue I have built:
A sawmill.
And I even found time to saw up about 2000 board feet of lumber, and dry it in the solar kiln(link to pic of greenhouse).
A shop:
(well, ok, I paid someone to build the shop)
But I did build the storm shelter myself: (again...)
Next project is a photonic energy converter. It will
convert photonic radiation from a nuclear fusion reactor, mainly in the 380
to 750 nanometer band, to molecular kinetic energy, and store it in high
temperature molten di-hydro mono-oxide.
Or, if you don't speek "geek", that translates into "solar hot water system"
The neatest thing of course will be the control system, I plan on running
the thing with my computer.
Network addressable switches and sensors. 1-Wire rocks.
Next project after that is a drilling rig.
And I have to fit a new house in there somewhere.
I did manage to take the boat out the other day. Nice lazy sail. And
Schroedinger likes the new storage spot (pic).
Did learn that I need to keep the tarp on even in the new storage spot.
Not for water protection, but for spider and dust protection.
Oh, yeah, and I learned that if you keep the solar panel that is charging
the $400 worth of gel cell batteries on the boat
covered with a tarp for 6 years, it completely kills them...
