| Note: | I have been building a sheet ply daysailer version since July, 2000. I live right along the Northwest Arm and frequently see Fraser Howell and 'Itchy and Scratchy' going up and down. Prior to deciding on this boat, my wife, Mary, and I were treated by Fraser to a trial cruise and this solidified my long-standing interest in this design. At this point, I am just about completed the rough construction of the hull and expect to install the keel cheek pieces and the outer stem before the winter weather sets in. Will be sharing some notes about the very helpful approach that I devised for installing the side panels. Tom |

| Note: | I've built the 1 1/2 inch to the foot scale model of the hard chine version. I'm still tempted to build it lapstrake, but I will probably go with what I know and do it hard chine style. I'm negotiating for indoor building space, but if that falls through, I'm going to build it primarily outdoors, fabricating parts indoors in winter. I'd appreciate any pointers in that regard from other cold-weather area builders. News will follow as events warrant. Thanks to everyone, who has played a part in amassing the initial body of information, for building this beautiful little ship, for all your help. |

Philip Mead Concord, NH Legacy mead@flume.mv.com |
| Note: | Legacy was built by Frank Mead, my father. I built the spars for her and my wife and I sewed the sails from a Sailrite kit. Frank got around the problem of the bilge curve near the stem by substituting 3/8 plywood for the recommended 1/2 inch. He added a stringer to stiffen the hull. Legacy was launched last year. Frank lives in Grand Marais, MI. is 80 years young and still building boats. |

I also extended the cabin aft to the next frame, widened it six inches on either side and raised the aft end of the roof 6 inches. |
